Abstract
Female breasts are certainly primary symbol of feminity. This focus is intensified by western culture and fashion, which stress pleasing breasts as a basic aspect of woman¡¯s attractiveness. A lack of self confidence and feeling of inadequacy can result from small breasts.

Accordingly this fact encourages the woman with small breasts to seek mammary augmentation.

Injection of the breast with paraffin to increase breast volume was introduced by Gersuny in 1899, and subsequently it leds to many complications. Unfortunately, this practice was taken over by some unscrupulous practitions in Korea previously, and even today.

Paraffinoma is one of the chronic foreign body granulomas and brings mass formations, discoloration, deformity of surrounding tissue and in severe cases, necrosis of mammary tissue and skin.

The reconstructive methods of defects after removal of paraffinomas are limited since paraffinomas are usually bilateral. We reconstructed the breast after subcutaneous mastectomy successfully in 9 cases of paraffinoma using latissimus dorsi muscular flap or myocutaneous flap with or without implant.

Also we discuss advantage of this flap in these cases over other reconstructive procedures.
